Every year the streets moved a fraction of an inch in relation<br \/>\nto the river, subtly altering the geography of the town.&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/em>\u2014 Geoff Dyer, &#8220;Horizontal Drift&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-right: 25px; padding-left: 5px; float: right; text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">Like the slowly shifting topography of the city of New Orleans,<br \/>\n<i>Horizontal Drift<\/i> stretches in two dimensions. The first is in the<br \/>\ndomain of pitch, where an altered fretboard gives the possibility of<br \/>\nquarter-tone gradations.
